Some of the problems are that some one could move the cup while its moving or the cornstarch could dry up over night and not be able to work with it the next day.
Broad Question
How fast can a colloid drip through a hole?
Specific Question
How long does it take for different colloid mixtures drip through a hole?
Hypothesis
I think that the cornstarch with more water will go through the hole faster and the cornstarch with the less water wont go through the hole fast.

Variables
Independent Variable: Amount of water.
Dependent Variable: Amount of cornstarch.
Variables That Need To Be Controlled:
Vocabulary List That Needs Explanation
General Plan
What i am going to do for my project is get 5 cups of cornstarch and mix different mixtures of water and cornstarch into plastic cups with holes in the bottom of the cups. I will time how many seconds it takes for all of the cornstarch to drip out of the holes into a different plastic cup.
Potential Problems And Solutions
The water could not work with the type of cornstarch that i would be using.
I did a total of ten trials in my project with the cornstarch and water mixture
Number Of Subjects In Each trial:
.There was two subjects in each trial. The subjects were cornstarch and water.
Number of Observations:
I got about 1 observation. The observation was that the more water in the cornstarch the mixture goes threw the hole much faster.
When data will be collected
My data was collected 3,12,1013.
Where will data be collected?:
My data will be collected in school and at home.

Detailed Procedure
1. I got plastic cups and water and cornstarch and a timer
2. I mixed the water and cornstarch together until it can drip easy.
3. I put three holes in the bottom of one of the plastic cups.
4. i filled the cup with the holes with the cornstarch mixture.
5. I put on the timer and let it drip through.
6. I stopped the timer when it dripped all the way.
7. I put my data into a data table.
8. Clean up

Results
My cornstarch cups with the different mixtures of cornstarch and water. The water with the most cornstarch had less water went threw the hole faster then it did before when the cornstarch had alt less water it went much much slower.
Conclusion
All of the tests i made were around five minutes long for each test. The observations that i made were that the more water i put in the cornstarch the faster the water went through the holes. The cornstarch mixture went through the hole slower when it had less water in it.
Discussion
In this point in my project i have all of my data and have put all of my data into tables. My hypothesis was correct because the cornstarch with the less water barley went through the holes and the cornstarch with more water went through the holes without a problem. I also found a pattern in parts of my project. The pattern was that no matter how much water the cornstarch has when it came out of the holes it always went to the side of the cup and took longer to drip down.
